| Oct 7, 2015 at 0:43 | comment | added | Wad Cheber | I think there's a good chance that the gate only opens and closes from inside, since the military was trying to keep bad elements out (and apparently killing people in the surrounding areas), and since they maintained a constant guard inside the gates. The guard would open and close the gate whenever a patrol was returning. Also, they probably learned how to open the gate from the captured soldier, and since no one else knew how to open it, locking it behind them might have left everyone else trapped inside. | |
