Feb 19, 2016 at 22:38 comment added Janus Bahs Jacquet @ThruGog Except perhaps by his wife to her girlfriends… (I thought the same thing, but all the descriptions seem too vague to tell whether the 18” are with or without the snake head. Oh dear, an 18-incher with a snake head…)
Feb 19, 2016 at 22:02 comment added ThruGog I think Lucius Malfoy's wand is only described as 18 inches because of the several inch long snake head on the prop. I don't think there is meant to be any claim of his having an especially lengthy wand.
Feb 19, 2016 at 20:39 comment added ibid There is an actual canon reference (from the books, no less) which describes Hagrid's wand as Oak, sixteen inches, rather bendy. Wouldn't that be better for #2?
Feb 19, 2016 at 20:36 comment added ibid @JanusBahsJacquet I list all the parts of Pottermore which have not been carried over in my answer to this question.
Feb 19, 2016 at 18:44 comment added Janus Bahs Jacquet I think (going by comments on the Wikia talk page) that the statement about Lucius’ wand being 18” is from the same place as the stuff about it being over a thousand years old (and thus not made by ‘our’ Ollivander at all): an interview with Jason Isaacs, the actor playing Lucius Malfoy in the movies. Can’t find the interview, though; the YouTube videos linked to on the talk page have been deleted, and there are many interviews with him. Definitely not book canon, though, only movie canon.

Feb 19, 2016 at 18:24 comment added Janus Bahs Jacquet Ah, it’s been brought over. I looked for it before, but couldn’t find it, so I thought it hadn’t been brought over yet. It’s originally from the old Pottermore (and their rate of bringing content over seems… somewhat random sometimes).
