Mar 21, 2013 at 6:40 comment added user13263 This is the reason why, in season 2, there are dead bodies in cars that do not have any visible brain damage: 1. Some of these people died from brain trauma during accidents. 2. Some of them DID have bullet holes in the head/other sign of brain destruction 3. In the summer, cars become like furnaces due to the heat. Therefore, some people may have remained in their cars, died from dehydration, turned into walkers, and then weeks later the brain would 'cook' killing the walkers.

Mar 19, 2012 at 2:06 comment added Tony R Thanks for pointing these things out! Obviously it's difficult to get it 100% right the first edit so I'll update the answer. After the season 2 finale we definitely have our answer.

Mar 12, 2012 at 15:09 comment added phantom42 This doesn't seem to always follow though. They found dead bodies on the highway that had no visible head wounds, but the bodies had not reanimated. Also, I'm surprised you skipped the most blatant instance of infected blood not infecting the uninfected: when they cover themselves with the guts of the dead to get through the city.
