But considering that seeing a reflection of a Basilisk's gaze causes petrification, your answer would imply that the Basilisk is now "convincing" the victim's body to turn to stone. Last I checked, people don't really have the mechanisms to turn to stone. So, the magic behind the Basilisk's gaze can't be as subtle as you suggest. | |
