After all most people don't get a place on the flagship. Or maybe they just told him it was hard to encourage him to push himself, or maybe the test is designed to be challenging to the individual rather than as a measure of aptitude.

Mar 16, 2012 at 4:57 comment added erdiede I think there is a much more obvious problem with this. It was implied Wesley wouldn't do well, but he routinely made a number of SENIOR OFFICERS of the ship look less then brilliant. If he wasn't smart enough how the heck did the rest of them do it?
