Dec 16, 2016 at 11:34 | comment | added | Angew is no longer proud of SO | @user13267 Yes, the Force bound everything together ... except apparently ysalamiri :-P
Dec 16, 2016 at 8:46 | comment | added | Holger | @jwenting: that’s right, but for someone without training, there is no difference between intuition and using the force. These people are often unaware that they are using the force. Like when young Anakin was told that he only can do pod racing due to his extraordinary senses (i.e. using the force). Up to this point, he had no idea. I vaguely remember of reading even in the novelizations of the old movies (Ep. IV-VI) that Leia had extraordinary senses (due to the force).
Dec 16, 2016 at 7:29 | comment | added | jwenting | "that's not what I sense" doesn't have to mean force use. It's a pretty mundane expression to use for "that's not what I can determine based on my knowledge of the situation". Good answer otherwise
Dec 16, 2016 at 5:24 | comment | added | T.E.D. | Just because someone has a lot of hatred/anger driving them when they do something doesn't mean they were using the force (of either side) to accomplish it. It could have just been plain old determination and adrenaline.
Dec 16, 2016 at 4:46 | comment | added | miltonaut | @user13267 She used the Force to increase her own strength and/or to manipulate the chains. Another human who was not Force Sensitive would not have been able to successfully strangle Jabba under the same conditions
Dec 16, 2016 at 3:59 | comment | added | Werrf | @user13267 We don't know the exact cutoff where someone would not be called "Force sensitive", but you're right - everyone and everything living feels the Force in some way. The term Force Sensitive is generally used to describe someone who is capable of using and manipulating the Force.

Dec 16, 2016 at 3:01 | comment | added | user13267 | Also, how did she use the force when she strangled Jabba? Shouldn't anyone who strangled him have the same effect?
Dec 16, 2016 at 3:00 | comment | added | user13267 | isn't everything that's alive force sensitive to some extent, Since the force permeated everything in the universe and bound everyone together? Or did I misunderstand that old guy in the cloak? What's the cutoff, below which you can say "this guy is not force sensitive"?
Dec 15, 2016 at 23:38 | comment | added | Mazura | I'm pretty sure she strangled him with a chain.
Dec 15, 2016 at 22:51 | comment | added | Broklynite | She used the dark side to kill Jabba? Seriously?

Dec 15, 2016 at 21:37 | comment | added | Wildcard | Ha, I read "Jabba" as "JarJar" and spent a couple minutes confused....
Dec 15, 2016 at 21:36 | comment | added | kasperd | I had always wondered how Leia was able to single-handedly kill Jabba. It never occurred to me that she could have been using the force, but in retrospect it does make sense.
