Aug 30, 2017 at 17:19 comment added Reyssor I still have hope that the horn found in S02E08 will have some use. Not much hope really, given the fact that it has never been mentioned or seen since then in the show. Wouldn't it be nice, though, to have brave Sam the Slayer saving the day... or accidentally ruining it ? Oh well, a boy can dream.
Aug 30, 2017 at 15:27 comment added CaffeineAddiction "he's ready and there won't be anything to stop his progress" that would be so fitting for GRR Martin ... last season, white walkers take over the world ... game over ... cause s*** happens.
Aug 30, 2017 at 14:55 comment added T. Sar Your answer made me think a lot about the Magic in Game of Thrones and how it is similar to the magic on Earthdawn. Hm...
Aug 30, 2017 at 12:03 comment added Skooba - Stands Against AI I agree with Galli... Benjen confirms there is some for of magic to prevent the undead from crossing the wall.
Aug 30, 2017 at 11:23 comment added Glen_b "All the Night King would have to do is wait until he can 'mark' someone able to pass the Wall" ... he marked Bran and Bran passed to the other side of the wall. No dragon needed, apparently.
Aug 30, 2017 at 9:22 comment added Gallifreyan In the show, Benjen says he can't go to the other side of the Wall. I took it to believe there was some magic in it.
Aug 30, 2017 at 9:17 comment added Andrakis A lot of theories prior to this episode revolved around the Knight King waiting for the ice to freeze over at Eastwatch by the Sea, allowing the army to walk over the frozen sea. We saw a version of this in the episode to capture a wight, where the army of the dead stopped until the river froze over, with our heroes stuck on a small island in the center. Without the aid of the dragon, it seems that the weather itself ("Winter is coming") would have allowed the army of the dead to cross the sea as it froze by Eastwatch. Getting the dragon just gave them a much quicker avenue.
