That implies that they all spoke of it, and knew what happened to it. I can't find evidence that Gandalf specifically knew that Elrond was there, but since Elrond mentioned his counsel (of Isildur) to the council (of Elrond), it is indeed hard to believe that Gandalf didn't know all along. | |
