Elves can freeze to death, die of thirst or starvation or drown. You saw they had lembas bread and said 1 wafer can keep a man marching all day, as if they couldn't march all day without nourishment. They rarely give their items to non-elves so they wouldn't have this lembas bread recipe waiting just for non-elven guests. | |
