If he never knew Nagini as a woman she can think of her as "the snake" and "it" because that is what she is for him, there is no reason for him to respect her human past. And what we see from the quote you provided is Harry's description of what he saw in Voldemort's mind. So "it" can be Harry's choice of words. In the beginning of Goblet of Fire both Voldemort and Wormtail refer to Nagini as "she" | |
