Jul 16, 2012 at 17:14 comment added user366 @Izkata Like I said, there's no follow-up to the two-parter that indicates the Empire was successful in deploying it fast enough. The Memory Alpha article about the augment virus has an interesting passage in the 5th paragraph about the issue, essentially leaving it up to viewer choice.
Jul 16, 2012 at 17:03 comment added Izkata Not explicitly, but the cure was developed in that episode. If no one else, I believe the commander of the Klingon ship in orbit was cured before losing his ridges, yes?
Jul 16, 2012 at 17:01 comment added user366 @Izkata There is no follow-up to "Affliction" that indicates the Empire was actually successful in that effort. Given we only see afflicted Klingons until "Encounter at Farpoint", it's more likely it affected them all.
Jul 16, 2012 at 12:46 comment added Izkata On the Klingons: Not completely correct. Mentioned in the second half of the ENT two-parter is that the Klingon empire was bombarding planets with infected Klingons, in an attempt to stop the virus from spreading further. It hadn't yet affected the entire Empire, so the second bullet point is the one that's correct.
