Oct 31, 2020 at 1:26 comment added lucasbachmann also If the Master pulled a repeat face like the N+4 Doctor/ Curator did...there's no way to tell what order incarnations are in.

Jan 3, 2020 at 17:57 comment added Graham Lee @spacephoenix I think we know that he’d used them all up by the Deadly Assassin, before eventually merging with Anthony Ainley. It’s one of those wibbly-wobbly things that’s best not to investigate too closely.
Jan 3, 2020 at 16:06 comment added SpacePhoenix @tilley31 we've no idea how many times The Master has regenerated off-screen. We've no idea if we've seen all of his regenerations
Jan 3, 2020 at 15:22 comment added tilley31 @SpacePhoenix How many Masters have we seen? From the top of my head, I can count 8. Still plenty of room for his first set.
Jan 3, 2020 at 9:12 comment added Wallnut For all we know, this could be a pre-Roger Delgado incarnation of the Master.
Jan 3, 2020 at 1:31 comment added SpacePhoenix @tilley31We know that The Doctor got a whole new set of regenerations from the Time Lords, is it not possible that The Master also got a new set?
Jan 3, 2020 at 0:01 comment added Radhil Didn't Missy even lampshade the entire trope in Series 9? "I just thought of something clever" indeed. This was right after she'd been vaporized at the end of Series 8 too.
Jan 2, 2020 at 23:22 comment added tilley31 @starpilotsix it doesn't matter because even if it was established that Missy was the LAST incarnation of the Master, this is a time travel show. This new incarnation might very well be between John Simm and Michelle Rodriguez for all we know.
Jan 2, 2020 at 22:58 comment added Daniel Roseman Note, being killed but somehow unexplainedly coming back to life is pretty much what the Master does.
Jan 2, 2020 at 22:48 comment added starpilotsix I actually wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't get answered later and they just ignore it. I mean they have before. However, highly speculative as it is, I will point out that Missy probably on some level remembered shooting her future self and saying "don't bother trying to regenerate"... wouldn't it make sense to guard against that?
Jan 2, 2020 at 22:47 comment added tilley31 Unless you're new to Doctor Who, you should be used to it by now. The Master is back, the show probably won't explain it, and will expect you to just go along with it...it has worked for more than 40 years now...
Jan 2, 2020 at 22:24 comment added Radhil This is almost certainly going to be answered later, and so would be a future works question.
