Feb 5, 2020 at 2:52 comment added abathur @Holger The point of the speculation isn't to divine Smith's motive, but to establish how it squares with the sentinel strike (and, to a lesser degree, his behavior in the subway scene). We wouldn't be having this conversation if the strike was unambiguously contiguous with the motive stated in Smith's monologue.
