Why would Bryant telldoesn't Deckard know basic details about Replicants?

Obviously, the effect is to inform the audience but Deckard acts as if some of thisthe information he's being given by Bryant is completely new to him which it could, for example that they have a 4-year lifespan and that they're very hard to spot, not be since he issomething you'd expect that an experienced Blade Runner.

I am watching "The Final Cut" -- I am thinking this was not shown in all versions of the film would need to be told.

Bryant for example mentions the 4-year lifespan -- howHow could any Blade Runner not know about thisthese basic Replicant facts?

Why would Bryant tell Deckard about Replicants?
