I read a story in the early to mid '90's in Asimov's Science Fiction magazine, and I am trying to come up with the title of the story and the author. The story is about a man meeting God in a diner. In the story God is an artist, and earth is his creation. God is frustrated with how the work is going and wants to scrap it and start over, but the man he meets gives him an idea about how to redeem his work. I really enjoyed the story, but cannot remember the author to hunt down more stories by them.
Does anyone have any ideas?
