Why did the Iron Man suits behave this way during the House Party Protocol?

I find it a qeustion that onAt the end of the movie, Tony Stark launches the House party protocolParty Protocol and the suits are launched and controlled by JARVIS the qeustion. The question is:

Why did the Suits attack in hand to hand-to-hand combat with the enemy whileeven though they could keep a savesafe distance and shoot them with the Repulsors and Uni-Beam??
