Timeline for In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix it seems Dumbledore makes a portkey that only Harry can use. Am I interpreting this correctly?

My own assumption here is that Dumbledore visualised the parameters of the spell as he verbalised 'Portus'. If we accept this idea then Harry would have been the target of the portkey and no one else.

Is it possible that Portus ignores the wizard/witch casting the spell right after it is cast? A sorta protection measure so that the castor doesn't get ported the moment the enchantment takes hold? I know there is no canon reference for this.. But could be..

Dec 5, 2013 at 4:46 | comment | added | balanced mama | Do you mean Occam's razor? Yes, but your theory carries the assumption there are only two versions of a portkey, as well as teh idea that Dumbledore could time things just right. The possibility of a third version we simply don't learn about in the rest of the books is equally logical. I still appreciate your theory though.
