Khazad Dum was "But a distant Rumour" (from somewhere in the silmarillion, not sure where). It was not until the second age when Eregion and later Imladris was founded that the elves really became involved with Khazad Dum. Although the only concrete evidence for help comes from Celebrimbor and Narvi's door to Moria. | |
