Dec 6, 2014 at 22:54 | comment | added | Valorum | @Kaivosukeltaja - It might interest you to know that James Cameron stated in an interview that skynet was instrumental in setting up the resistance out of a sense of guilt. From the future, he supplied them with weapons and intel to help destroy his former self.

What do you know about future techs? And, why couldn't they simply check logs? It's still a thing of common sense. If you still aren't convinced, you can apply your logic with almost all canons out there.
Dec 6, 2014 at 19:01 | comment | added | Kaivosukeltaja | Why not? I don't think they would be the first supervillains with such an agenda. Maybe to secure a great spot in the afterlife. Maybe to take vengeance on the whole planet. Maybe just because they can. Also, they're not necessarily trying to destroy all humanity, they could be holed up in a nuclear silo declared "out of bounds" for the terminators.

Dec 6, 2014 at 18:44 | comment | added | Kaivosukeltaja | The Terminator isn't "wrong", it's merely passing on information given to it. All of the information is either from Skynet (or whoever is pulling its strings) or the Resistance. How would the Resistance know the difference between a hacker attack or spontaneously sentient defense system?
Dec 6, 2014 at 18:37 | comment | added | Doctor Doom | @Kaivosukeltaja Terminator has knowledge from the future.. The future Human Resistance. How can he be wrong?
Dec 6, 2014 at 18:32 | comment | added | Kaivosukeltaja | Yes, John also states Skynet has become self-aware. But is he correct? All he knows about Skynet he has heard from the Terminators, whose knowledge in turn comes from Skynet - or the parties controlling it.

Dec 6, 2014 at 18:07 | comment | added | Doctor Doom | @Kaivosukeltaja Skynet somehow managed to get through (probably, during its development stages).
Dec 6, 2014 at 18:01 | comment | added | Kaivosukeltaja | But wasn't the virus already widespread before the uplink of Skynet? It has infected half of the civilian internet way before Skynet is connected. Isn't it possible that the virus was designed to create a backport into Skynet much like Stuxnet targeted PLC systems in real life?
