Jun 19, 2016 at 14:27 comment added Paul D. Waite @phantom42: “As for why the assumption was made” — I thought it was because her death at the end of season 5 was causing by her jumping into an opening gateway to a hell dimension in order to close it. I think the gang assumed that this resulted in her soul ending up in said hell dimension.

Feb 18, 2015 at 16:06 comment added Valorum I've made a fairly big edit as you seem to be asking two separate questions; 1) Has Buffy been to hell before the Season 5 finale (and if so, when did it happen and when does she talk about it) and 2) Is there any special reason someone like Buffy would go to hell if she died.

Feb 17, 2015 at 22:07 comment added Roger @Sly Recall that what makes someone a Slayer is being bound to the essence of a demon. That doesn't necessarily guarantee one entry into heaven. (Not that they knew that at the time, of course.)

Feb 17, 2015 at 21:54 comment added Peter Fox Yes but in the show it seems to mention before that she had already been to hell and if not why do they assume she went to hell? She was a slayer surely that's worthy of heaven
Feb 17, 2015 at 21:54 comment added phantom42 As for why the assumption was made, I'd have to rewatch/dig, but I think it was just because of the violent life she lived. There was no real one thing that made anyone believe/assume it.
Feb 17, 2015 at 21:52 comment added phantom42 The discussion about Buffy going to Hell was by the Scooby's, but Buffy was not a part of those conversations. It turned out that Buffy was in Heaven - or at least, she believed she had been.
