Not all of these people were necessarily cold, hard, and empathy-less. Just like real criminals who participate in violent organized crime outfits, or real racists who support policies that would be violent and murderous, a lot of the death eaters were probably not comfortable casually personally doing the worst actions of their group. Personally killing someone, especially a teen, whose face and emotions and desire to live you can see, is really hard. And some of them could relate it to kids of their own. | |
