That episode openly states that Q used to be explorers and have fun in the universe, but that they basically got bored with their own omnipotence: there is nowhere to go, nothing to see and nothing to do, because they've been everywhere and everywhen, seen everything and done everything at least once. Q's son with Janeway was supposed to change that. | |
