In August 2016, actor Kyle MacLachlan tweeted the entire plot of Frank Herbert's Dune via emoji (MacLachlan played Paul Atreides in the 1984 film adaptation directed by David Lynch).

The plot of Dune, as told by emojis

While I understand what some of the emojis represent (like the purple worm being a sandworm), I'm unsure about others like the syringe.

What does each of these emoji represent within the plot of Dune?

@Tim I disagree. This is clearly related to understanding the plot of science fiction work. Also I think it would make for a very poor puzzle as it requires plot knowledge to answer rather than puzzling skills. – ApproachingDarknessFish Oct 17 '17 at 1:46

@Tim - as a regular on Puzzling.SE I can say that this would probably not be well received there, and actually fits on this site very well. – Mithical Oct 17 '17 at 2:00
  • This has made me lol, and curious. – user31178 Oct 17 '17 at 4:15

  • I think the "lines" are simple word wrap and don't have meaning. – Tim Oct 17 '17 at 2:00

@Tim I agree. I just put them in there to simplify the bookkeeping a tad. – Buzz Oct 17 '17 at 2:04

26-28 are saying "Walking makes sound that summons the sandworms". – user31178 Oct 17 '17 at 4:18
  • 35 is an embarrassed or shocked face, not sure how that gets to bleeding eyes. Seems like it's supposed to be a "waking up" implication? – user31178 Oct 17 '17 at 4:19
