Planetary computers, one male the other female, the female supercomputer was named Jermaine. Different planets, Jermaine was one planet and the male counterpart was another planet. After they warred, humanity was reduced to living in caves and almost extinct. Two interplanetary leonine humanoids, a couple, discover the cave dwelling humans, learn of the war, and that it was a lovers spat between two worlds.

Per the OP comment above, this was Firebird by Charles L. Harness, published 1980 or 1981 (isfdb and goodreads disagree).
