Watching "Chain of Command" made me think - Riker and Jellico have a lot in common. Riker, when he led the ship to fight the Borg, was definitely a military leader. He may not have been extreme like Jellico or Sisko but he definitely was not purely Picard either.

Plus the way he gave orders was way more harsher than Picard as well, like strictly reprimanding Shelly when Riker said, "Belay that order, Commander. We don't have the time." Which was his style. On an unrelated note, people often use this to say why Riker would not make a good captain in a wartime situation like Jellico, but Riker defeated the Borg.
