I remember when I was much younger I watched a video with some odd robotic teenagers who travel back in time and meet the grim reaper (like from Scream) in hell or similar. I wish I could remember more details but I was too young.

Rondo might know... – NominSim Aug 30 '12 at 20:53
  • How long ago was it? Was this live action or animated? – user1027 Aug 30 '12 at 21:45

Hmmm... Here's a strange observation. Rondo went through a phase of making sockpuppets using anagrams of "Rondo", and the name "carl talua" is an anagram for "Alla Turca", which is the last movement in Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11, which is popularly known as the "Turkish Rondo". We may have ourselves another puppet, folks... or just a convoluted conspiracy theory. ;) – gnovice Aug 31 '12 at 16:40
  • From the title, I was thinking Apex, but the description doesn't match up – oliver-clare Sep 17 '12 at 12:30

I'm pretty sure this is Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (1991). Bill and Ted are killed by their evil android doubles that have been sent back in time and have to fight the Grim Reaper to get out of Hell and return to the world of the living.

  • Also, this movie included two sets of robot Bill and Ted. – Xantec Aug 30 '12 at 21:03

I'm not sure if that's the one. Can you think of any other movies that might follow the same overall theme? – carl talua Aug 30 '12 at 21:20

@carltalua - I would be very surprised if this was incorrect. My immediate reaction to this was Bogus Journey. – iandotkelly Aug 30 '12 at 21:27

That's a pretty narrow theme... Does "How's it Hanging Death", "Exceeeellent", and Death playing Battleship/Twister against the teens ring any bells? – Gorchestopher H Aug 31 '12 at 1:28

Don't want to assume bad faith, but the fact that the question's title is weirdly worded ("mechanical beings" instead of "robots") and carl talua not accepting the most obvious answer seems to point to a Rondo sockpuppet :/ – Andres F. Aug 31 '12 at 15:45
