In Oz (2013), Glinda tells Oz she is the Good Witch of the South. Yet in The Wizard of Oz (1939), she tells Dorothy she is Glinda the Good Witch of the North. According to this question, it seems that Glinda is indeed the Good Witch of the South according to other sources. What I'm trying to understand is why Glinda said she was the Good Witch of the North in one film, but she said she was the Good Witch of the South in the other!

    In the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900) she is the Good Witch of the South. So maybe the question is why that was changed for the movie in 1939... – GEdgar Apr 20 '15 at 13:28
