Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is a mutant capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds. The character first appears in X-Men #4 (March 1964) and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. He is the son of Magneto, the twin brother of the Scarlet Witch, and the paternal half-brother of Polaris.
