Woman has special powers, is fleeing and banned from her homeland.  Traveling w companions who are helping her cross a "haunted" mountain.  Finds red haired ax weilding guide who has wolf/dog that hunts.  One of her "guards" is from the Kings assassin group, but is protecting her with her life.  They cross the mountain and are attacked, she saves the guard and they continue their trek.  She is trying to make an alliance with an enemy before she is captured.
