For questions about the "Rocky Horror Picture Show, a musical comedy whose nominal plot is a newlywed couple being corrupted by aliens, with many references to sci-fi and horror B-movies. For questions about the original stage play see [rocky-horror-show].

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 musical comedy film, based on the stage play The Rocky Horror Show (). It emulates classic science fiction and horror B-movies.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been showing continuously for 37 years and counting, making it longest-running theatrical release in film history. It has attracted a cult following where audience members act some scenes as they happen.

Nominally, the plot has newlyweds Brad and Janet stranded in Dr Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry)'s mansion. Frank N. Furter turns out to be a “Sweet Transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania”, as his assistants (apparently) Riff Raff (Richard O'Brien) and Magenta (Patricia Quinn). He has created a man (Rocky) from parts. The Transvestites' explicit, unconventional sexuality contrast with the straight-laced couple.
