George A. Romero is a director primarily known for his series of zombie movies.

George A. Romero not only directed what is widely regarded as the best zombie movie ever made [the original *Night of the Living Dead], he is also credited with inventing the modern idea of zombies as reanimated corpses which attack the living, either devouring them entirely or infecting them via a bite, thereby creating more zombies.
