Webcomics are comics published on a website. Many of them are SciFi or Fantasy themed.

Webcomics are comics published on a website (as opposed to traditional publishing methods like newspaper or comic books from a publishing house).

This allows for a wide variety of comics to be published, since it removes the commercial saleability threshold, allowing wide experimentation on content, format, etc...

For example some comics exist that have great story-lines and poor artwork, which would never see the light of day in pre-webcomic world.

Some of the popular SFF webcomic examples would be:

  • SHADOWBINDERS (Steampunk Fantasy)
  • Wizard School (Harry Potter parody)
  • Evil Inc. (a parody of the entire superhero comic genre)
  • I Was Kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates from Outer Space
