I'm a software engineer currently living in hot and humid Houston, Texas. I'm convinced that the size and ferocity of the local mosquitoes and cockroaches are best explained by some science fiction plot element. :)
I've been a fan of science fiction since childhood: I grew up watching "Star Trek: The Next Generation", so the various incarnations of "Star Trek" have always been my first love in the genre, but I've also enjoyed "The Twilight Zone" (the classic version), "The X-Files", "Alias", "Lost", and most recently (what can I say, I was late to the party) "Firefly".
I'm a fan of classic sci-fi authors like Bradbury, Heinlein, and Niven as well as more current ones like Orson Scott Card.
I've never seriously gotten into fantasy, but every few years I blow the dust off of "Lord of the Rings" and re-read it. Does that count? :)
