I got turned onto sci fi/fantasy as a child with Conan the Barbarian comics and Savage Sword issues, then graduated to reading short stories and novels about Conan, from Robert E. Howard to John Maddox Roberts. From there through my twenties, I dipped into Ursula K. Le Guin, Philip K. Dick, Anne McCaffrey, Isaac Asimov, Marion Zimmer Bradley, and various other authors I can't recall. Now in my 40s, I'm experiencing a renewal of the love I have for sci fi/fantasy and have been trying to remember some of the more obscure novels I read. Most recently, I've read Lev Grossman's Magicians Trilogy and Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles, awaiting the release of the final book in that trilogy.
