Jan 2, 2018 at 18:17 | comment | added | ThePopMachine | @DVK-on-Ahch-To: Incidentally, there is an actual answer in there, but I had to read for five minutes to find it. It's this: "Tall and gaunt, he was humanoid but not human." See? Even you didn't realize it's there because the other question's answer is so long and tangential.
Jan 2, 2018 at 18:16 | comment | added | ThePopMachine | @DVK-on-Ahch-To: That is fine. The point is, the link between the two questions is not obvious at all, because the other question is overly specific. Certainly, I didn't find the answer I was looking for. Why would I even know to look for "Is Snoke Darth Plagueis?" if I want to know if he's a human?
Jan 2, 2018 at 18:14 | comment | added | DVK-on-Ahch-To | basically, if I re-open this, I'd simply copy/paste most of my answer there, here. Which is the definition of a duplicate
Jan 2, 2018 at 18:11 | comment | added | DVK-on-Ahch-To | the answer isn't "He's not a Muun" though. It's "We don't know who or what he is (including whether he's human). In particular, he's not Muun named Plagueis, but he's not anything specifically known".

Jan 2, 2018 at 18:05 | comment | added | ThePopMachine | And just to underscore this, I'm changing the title to "Is Snoke human?" which is a better summary of what I'm asking.
Jan 2, 2018 at 18:04 | comment | added | ThePopMachine | @DVK-on-Ahch-To: I don't think it makes sense to mark this as duplicate when the answer to the other question is "He's not a Munn". I think the duplicate policy with regards to overlapping answers is applied too broadly. IMO, and a better approach would be be leave this open, and possibly answer, just like you did here, with "We don't know, but if you look at this linked answer, you can see he's not a Munn."
Jan 2, 2018 at 18:00 | comment | added | DVK-on-Ahch-To | basically, the answer is "We don't know who or what Snoke is at this point in canon, other than he's not a previously known Muun which was one plausible theory". Details of what we don't know are in that answer (as the old Soviet joke goes, "we only don't have meat. The store across the road is the one that doesn't have fish").
Jan 2, 2018 at 17:55 | comment | added | ThePopMachine | @DVK-on-Ahch-To: How does any of that answer the question? Please point it out.
Jan 2, 2018 at 17:52 | comment | added | DVK-on-Ahch-To | There's a Deadpool joke in there somewhere but I ain't going there.
