Feb 22, 2021 at 23:41 comment added Spencer @JohnRennie "What do the other names mean?" would actually be OK, as it would be a short finite list with objective answers. scifi.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/2638/…

Feb 22, 2021 at 17:57 comment added Jeff Zeitlin I'm not comfortable enough with asserting this to be the first to VTC or flag, but I ask others to consider the possibility that any possible answer, except from an authoritative source (such as Heinlein's own notes or essays, or a detailed discussion from Virginia Heinlein), would be opinion-based.
Feb 22, 2021 at 16:42 comment added John Rennie This seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me. It isn't asking "what the other names mean?" it is asking why the meaning of a name like Jubal has any significance to the plot. @DrAsimov maybe you could edit the question to make this clearer and avoid misunderstandings.
Feb 22, 2021 at 16:12 comment added IMSoP @DrAsimov Unfortunately, that doesn't really work with this Q&A format because it encourages users to rank answers as better or worse than each other, and explicitly discourages answers referring to or building on each other. That's as much the format's fault as yours - there are some things it just doesn't work well for - but if you can narrow the scope of the question down a bit, it's likely to be more well-received on this site.

Feb 22, 2021 at 15:37 comment added Zeiss Ikon Are there specific characters you're interested in? Otherwise, it's rather a long list, more like "identify every character in this poster" type of wiki list.
