Is his death really an accident or he was killed by someone? I fail to see the point infind Hesperus character as problematic as Dr. Meninx. He is so short 'with us,' besides being a bigot doesn't contribute anything to in the book apart from the knowledge, but nothing that there are people who are againstgives him the existencemotive aside from Mr. Meninx dislike of Machine People.

Is he there just But Hesperus is supposed to be killed off to cast doubt on other characters? And more importantly, was his death an accident or not?evolved and he doesn't ring like he did it to me. I still didn't get to the part where this is resolved (if it is resolved) and don't mind spoilers.
