Why did Sauron have Amandil dismissed from Ar-Pharazon'sPharazôn's Council?

Before the coming of Sauron, Ar-Pharazon allows himPharazôn allowed Amandil to be on his council, knowing he's a faithfulhe was one of the Faithful. However, yet when Sauron showsshowed up, Ar-Pharazon kicksPharazôn kicked him off the Council.
