Novella about the accidential creation of a time machine, creator and two kids end up centuries in the past
Interesting, I do not recall the wildlife, nor the sabotage angle, and I definitely recall the north star being different. But this has to be the book. I'm going to get a copy of Einstein's Bridge now.

SciFi book, about a human colony on the moon. A central computer becomes sentient and forms an alliance or teams up with the main character
That's interesting, I didn't know he used this as a setting after Hotline. Mini-review: some good ideas, but the story is just all over the place, to the point of confusion.

1950's science fiction story about a lottery where a person is selected each day and the person who kills them wins the prize
Clearly inspired by "Seventh Victim", which has the same overall plot structure, albeit with differences in terms of the setup.

TV show, late 70s early 80s, two investigators searching for "unknowns"
@AnthonyX - that's what I said. The show I am trying to identify is absolutely not Project UFO.

@AnthonyX - No, the show in question was in color. The B&W reference is to the other show that I was familiar with, Project UFO. I guess I just happened to watch that show on B&W TVs.

@M.A.Golding - perhaps I am thinking of a different show? I am thinking of one where two air force guys fly around the country (in a T-33 no less) investigating UFO reports.

@AnthonyX - those shows were anthologies, this wasn't, it was following the two main characters from show to show. Ahh, there 1990s OL, so low budget!

@JohnWinkelman - Project UFO, as the name implies, was about UFOs. It was also B&W, which this show was not.

Just read the capsule reviews for Hardy Boys. Definitely not there.

Who is siring all the new vampires Buffy routinely stakes on patrol?
This leads me to wonder who's siring all the people in the UK. At the rate they're being killed off in BBC mystery series, the island should be depopulated by now.

Sci-fi or horror, guess from Mars
Bonus points for using some 14/2 Teck cable as the alien tentacles, that saved the budget right there.
