Seven of Nine (full Borg designation: Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix 01) was a human female who was assimilated into the Borg collective as a child and later removed form the collective and served aboard the USS Voyager (Source).
She was born as Annnika Hansen in 2350 to Magnus and Erin Hansens, exobiologists. When the Hansens went on a research mission for the Federation to try and gain a deeper understanding of the Borg. This mission failed when the USS Raven (the ship they were aboard) was detected by the Borg and the crew of three were assimilated in 2356.
In 2374, Seven was chosen to serve as an interface between the Borg and the USS Voyager crew during their brief alliance in response to Species 8472. She was liberated from the collective and over the remaining seasons of Star Trek: Voyager gradually become more human like and adopted an individual identity.
